Try It Out: My Nutritious, Delicious, and Healthy Breakfast Tip

Real quick!

Listen y’all.

Before I left home to walk this morning, I wolfed down a Fuji apple rather than walk on an empty stomach. I love Fuji apples because they are firm and sweet. I say, often, don’t start your day on an empty stomach.

After a six-mile walk, I washed my hands and moved swiftly to the kitchen. Take note. Within an hour of any workout, eat! You worked your muscles, and now they need nutrients to recover.

You can whip this meal together in less than 30 minutes. Tell me, how much do you value your health? Do you want to continue to live on the hamster wheel of constantly reacting to chronic health issues? Your best option is to take responsibility for your well-being. Take a small step today—just one.

You need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that everyday so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance. - Kate Kacvinsky

The Bowl:

  • 1/4 steel cut oats

  • sprinkle of cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon - hemp hearts

  • 1/4 fresh blueberries

  • 1 teaspoon of organic cacao nibs

  • 1 cup coconut almond milk

The Smoothie:

  • handful baby leaf spinach

  • 1 cup plant-based protein

  • 1 small orange

  • 1 small banana

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon hemp powder

  • 1 teaspoon hemp hearts

  • 1 teaspoon Golden flaxseed

  • 1 teaspoon chia seed

  • crushed ice

  • coconut almond milk (approximately 3/4 cup)

What I like most about making smoothies is it is an opportunity to start the day with a powerful punch. First thing in the morning, you eat several servings of fresh fruits and vegetables without a fuss. Prepare your smoothie the night before; add protein powder in the morning, and it is that simple.

You can choose to make excuses for why you can't adopt a healthier lifestyle, but he bottom line is, no one can make you do something that you don't want to or aren't ready to do.

Tell me, what is keeping you from making positive change in you life? Let’s talk!
